Comox Valley Farmers’ Market – Saturday (Courtenay)
Comox Valley Farmers’ Market – Saturday
4839 Headquarters Rd., Courtenay, BC

The Saturday farmers’ market has been a Comox Valley institution since a group of local growers started selling directly to their neighbours in 1992. It runs every Saturday morning at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds on Headquarters Road, with dozens of vendors set up across the grounds selling farm fresh produce, locally made food items, and a rotating cast of seasonal proteins including bison, rabbit, duck, goose, and tuna alongside the year-round staples of beef, chicken, and turkey. A proper Saturday morning farmers’ market in every sense, the kind that fills your bag and takes longer than you planned.

Open Saturdays, 9am to 1pm.

Mudsharks Coffee Bar

From the Exhibition Grounds, head into downtown Courtenay and make Mudsharks your first stop. Located on 6th Street, this Comox Valley favourite opens at 6:30am daily and pours rich espresso made with locally sourced beans alongside house-made syrups, fresh-baked scones, and plenty of vegan-friendly bites. Warm, cozy, and reliable. A good place to settle in before or after the farmers’ market.

Blue Spruce Ice Cream

Also in downtown Courtenay on Cliffe Avenue, Blue Spruce Ice Cream scoops hand-crafted flavours made right here in the Valley. The lineup changes with the seasons and leans into unique combinations, with vegan options and ice cream cakes rounding out the menu. Not sure what to order? Blue Spruce offers free samples, so take your time. A natural end to a Saturday morning in Courtenay.

I-Hos Gallery

Owned by the K’omoks First Nation and voted Comox Valley’s best art gallery in both 2024 and 2025, I-Hos Gallery is located on Comox Road in Courtenay, making it an easy addition to your Saturday farmers’ market day. The gallery showcases hand-crafted jewellery, carvings, weavings, prints, and more from nearly 100 Indigenous artists across the region. Every piece carries the story of the artist who made it.

Comox Valley Farmers’ Market – Sunday (Cumberland)
Comox Valley Farmers’ Market – Cumberland
2743 Dunsmuir Ave., Cumberland, BC

On Sundays, the farmers’ market moves to Cumberland Village Square on Dunsmuir Avenue in the heart of this small mountain town. Running Sundays from June through September, a dozen vendors fill the green space with fresh fruit and vegetables, local meat, wine, fresh-baked pies, snacks, and apothecary goods. It is a quieter, more intimate market than Saturday’s, and it fits the pace of Cumberland perfectly.

Open Sundays, 10am to 1pm.

Cumberland Brewing Company

Steps from the Village Square market on Dunsmuir Avenue, Cumberland Brewing Company is as much a part of this town’s identity as the mountain trails surrounding it. The brewery pours a diverse range of handcrafted beers in a community-focused space with a genuine local feel. Stay for a pint and something to eat after the farmers’ market. This is the kind of taproom that earns the drive to Cumberland on its own.
