The Comox Valley Farmers’ Market Association was born early in May 1992 when a group of local growers saw the need for a gathering place for farmers to sell directly to the consumer. Over 25 years later, it is still going strong. It has a year round market on Saturday, and two seasonal markets running Wednesdays and Sundays (in Cumberland) from July to September.
The markets have a wide variety of product ranging from fruits and vegetables from arugula to zucchini; over nine varieties of meat; yummy baking from breads to confections, muffins to pies and pretzels to Stroopwafles; handcrafted soaps and body products; wine, ciders and spirits; sauces, salsas, chutneys and jams; and hot and cold food and drink ready to serve. The market also has gluten free, diary free, vegan and organic options. All products are locally grown, made, baked, raised or wild harvested within the Comox Valley Regional District or the Strathcona Regional District. The market has become not only a place to buy fresh, local food, but also a showcase for the talented musicians who live in the Comox Valley. Over the years the markets have become the place for community to gather. Come for the Freshness, Stay for the Fun.
This market participates in the BC Farmers' Market Nutrition Coupon Program.
