For your first Nelson & Kootenay Lake Passport Tour stop, swing by the Baker Street Market. This summer market runs every Wednesday from June to the end of September at the pedestrian-friendly corridor spanning from Hall Street to Nelson’s waterfront. Downtown Nelson’s recent Stores-to-Shore revitalization project has rejuvenated Nelson’s Downtown core, assisting in the popularity of the Baker Street Market.
You can find a mix of delicious local produce, plants, prepared foods, and fresh flowers at this market from more than a dozen local farmers. In addition, you can find unique products like skin and body care, and locally made artwork and gifts.
On Saturdays, you can check out the Cottonwood Falls Park farmers’ market. This market has been serving the community for more than 40 years, every Saturday from May to the end of October. The rotating vendors at this unique market offer a diverse selection of everchanging goods, like fresh local produce, eggs, honey, natural meats, hot and cold beverages and more!
Also operating on Saturdays is the Kaslo farmers’ market, from June to October. Set against the backdrop of a grassy park in the heart of downtown Kaslo, with breathtaking views of the Purcell Mountains, the Kaslo Saturday Market has been thriving for nearly twenty years! Stop by for a bounty of goods like farm fresh produce, locally raised meat, flowers, and fresh baked bread and pastries.
