Qualicum Beach Farmers’ Market
Qualicum Beach
- The name Qualicum itself comes from the name for 'dog salmon', or chum salmon, the name given to the land around Qualicum beach in the Halq'eméylem language. As places were previously named not after people but after the qualities of the land.

Eat fresh, buy local, be healthy.
The Qualicum Beach Farmers’ Market plays host to the community year-round as they introduce locals and visitors to the region’s most talented makers, bakers, and growers every Saturday morning.
Since the market’s inception in 1997, a genuine “Meet me at the Market” feeling has permeated this community who proudly supports their local food producers. This early morning market starts promptly with the ring of the market bell, as friends and neighbours catch up over hot coffee and fresh snacks, and vendors display their fresh farm produce alongside up-and-coming independent food producers.
We respectfully acknowledge that the land we gather on is the Unceded Traditional Territory of the Qualicum First Nation.
This market participates in the BC Farmers' Market Nutrition Coupon Program.

At the Market
Qualicum Beach is one of Vancouver Island’s mid-island gems!
This coastal community and its kilometres of sandy beach, trails, pleasant parkland, and warm community feel are all reasons alone to visit. However, there’s also a thriving agricultural network alongside a burgeoning local food scene to excite palates.
Key to their success is the Qualicum Beach Farmers’ Market. This popular year-round Saturday market began life in 1997, and has grown to be a much loved fixture for locals and visitors alike.
