The Vancouver’s North Shore Passport Tour starts at one of three local farmers’ markets, each bringing the season’s best produce, baked goods, and handmade treats to the table. From there, Vancouvers’ North Shore has plenty more to offer, from artisan cheese to handmade donuts, craft yogurt, small batch spirits, and museum quality Indigenous art.

Set against the backdrop of Burrard Inlet and English Bay, Ambleside Farmers’ Market holds one of the most picturesque locations of any farmers’ market in the region. Set up in centrally located Ambleside Park, just steps from Ambleside Village and Ambleside Beach, this market brings local vendors together every Sunday morning in season, offering access to some of the region’s finest produce, artisan breads, and wild foraged treats. Open Sundays 9am to 2pm.
Set in the heart of vibrant Lonsdale Quay, a bustling hub for transit, shopping, and seaside views, Market at the Quay brings talented bakers, jam makers, and honey gatherers together with some of the province’s most popular organic and conventional farmers each week. Vendors set up all along the boardwalk, letting shoppers browse fresh produce while taking in the ocean air and the Vancouver skyline across the water. Open Wednesdays 3pm to 7pm.
Tucked into the parking lot of Loutet Park in a quiet residential neighbourhood, Loutet Farm Community Market is one of the few farmers’ markets in the region set right on an actual working farm. Run by the Edible Garden Project in partnership with the North Shore Neighbourhood House, the farm grows fresh vegetables onsite alongside a lineup of community vendors selling baked goods, coffee, jam, and prepared food. Beyond the produce, the Edible Garden Project also hosts farm tours, workshops, and field trips throughout the season, making this a great stop for anyone curious about urban agriculture, not just fresh groceries. A network of trails near the farm leads into North Vancouver’s mountains, making it an easy add to a hike or family outing. Open Saturdays 10am to 1pm.
Graydon’s Cheese Cellar
Just a short drive from Ambleside Farmers’ Market, Graydon’s Cheese Cellar is a friendly, no pretense cheese shop and charcuterie bar based in West Vancouver’s Ambleside Village. The shop sources its cheeses from local and international cheesemakers, and rounds things out with made in Canada sidekicks like honeys and small batch preserves. Grab a spot inside for a custom charcuterie board, assembled on your own board or one of the shop’s reusable wooden trays, or shop the counter for cheese to take home.

Cream Pony
Tucked into a back alley off Lolo Lane, close to Market at the Quay, Cream Pony is a family run shop built around two things: handmade brioche donuts and Southern style fried chicken. The donut lineup rotates through playful, colourful flavours, from honey glazed crullers to the shop’s whimsical signature creations, while the chicken comes as pieces or sandwiches in original, Cajun, and Hot Nashville styles. It started as a hidden gem in North Vancouver and has since grown enough to open a second location on Vancouver’s Main Street, but this original alleyway spot is still where the story began, and a true delight after a morning spent at the farmers’ market.
Krave Kulture Yogurt Shop
Located right inside Lonsdale Quay Market, Krave Kulture Yogurt Shop is Vancouver’s first craft yogurt shop. Everything is made fresh in house daily with organic Canadian milk, slow fermented over 24 hours with live probiotic cultures and no thickeners or additives. The menu covers tangy frozen yogurt swirls finished with toppings like dark chocolate and seasonal fruit, savoury and sweet yogurt bowls, smoothies, and take home glass jars of the plain stuff for smoothies, dips, and dressings.
Copperpenny Distilling Co.
Located in the heart of North Vancouver’s Shipyards Brewery District, Copperpenny Distilling Co. is the City of North Vancouver’s first craft distillery and full service tasting lounge. The art deco inspired space pairs a spirit tasting bar with a pet friendly patio, where visitors can sip house crafted gins, vodkas, and liqueurs in signature cocktails like the Social Negroni, alongside a seasonal food menu.
