Meet Annita – the heart behind a beloved online Indigenous cooking show where traditional roots and contemporary flavours come together on one plate.

When the COVID-19 pandemic brought her to her sister’s home in Terrace, B.C., something unexpected happened: an abundance of wild meats and fish lit a creative fire. She started sharing her recipes online and people fell in love. What began as a passion project quickly grew into live cooking demonstrations, a community, and a movement.

But for Annita, cooking is never just about the food. Every dish she makes is an act of advocacy for food sovereignty, for traditional harvesting practices, and for the cultures and landscapes that make Indigenous cuisine so extraordinary. In the face of growing environmental challenges, she’s keeping these traditions alive, one meal at a time.
