Kick off the Surrey Passport Tour at the Surrey Urban Farmers’ Market, held at Royal Kwantlen Park in the heart of Surrey. This vibrant outdoor market, run by a passionate team of volunteers, brings together the community every second Saturday from June to October.

Wander through a lively mix of stalls offering fresh produce, local meats, dairy, honey, preserves, and handmade goods from local artisans. Enjoy a bite from one of the food trucks, take in live music, and soak up the welcoming atmosphere. While you’re there, make the most of Royal Kwantlen Park’s picnic spots, playground, walking paths, and skatepark.

Next, head to the Clayton Community Market, nestled in the heart of Clayton. This friendly, biweekly farmers’ market runs on Sunday mornings from May through October and has become a beloved gathering place since it launched in 2017.

Here, you’ll find everything from fresh produce and baked goods to preserves and locally crafted wine and spirits. Grab a bite from one of the food trucks, enjoy live music from local performers, and connect with the farmers and makers behind the products. The market is dog-friendly, has a kids’ area, and offers a relaxed, welcoming vibe that makes it easy to bring the whole family along.

Combine Cafe & Bar

At Combine Cafe & Bar, home-grown ingredients meet international inspiration, blending a relaxed daytime café vibe with a lively evening bar atmosphere. From 7 am–4 pm, enjoy expertly brewed Mogiana coffee and fresh pastries or sandwiches in a bright, modern space with vaulted ceilings and a central prep island. As the day transitions, the kitchen resets to serve globally inspired, scratch-made dishes using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients from places like Southlands and Tsawwassen farms. Happy Hour kicks in from 4–6 pm (and late-night from 9pm onwards), featuring classic cocktails, BC and Old World wines, and even an espresso martini. The menu spans farm‑to‑table mains like braised short ribs and Canary rockfish, shareable charcuterie boards, and inventive desserts including vegan Black Forest cake. Their drink menu features a mix of BC wines, rotating local taps, and a curated selection of international wines.

The Sunflower Cafe

The Sunflower Café in Crescent Beach is renowned for its bright, welcoming atmosphere. Every salad features the crispest lettuce blend from Kingfisher Farms, with whom the café has partnered for years. Russell Brewing Company

Russell Brewing Company is a cornerstone of Surrey’s craft beer scene, founded way back in 1995. As one of BC’s original ten craft breweries, it helped shape the province’s craft sector and has remained committed to quality and innovation ever since. Notable flagship beers include A Wee Angry Scotch Ale, Blood Alley Bitter, and Cream Ale, with experimental seasonal drops like Hoppy Hefeweizen and Lemon Meringue Pie Sour garnering buzz.

Russell opened its Surrey taproom in 2022. It features 14 beer taps, one cider tap, two slushies, and a snack menu (including tacos) and hosts events like crib nights and beer tastings.

Bear Creek Park Train & Mini Golf

Bear Creek Park is a great spot for the whole family. The park features a children’s playground, summer water park and outdoor pool, covered picnic tables, walking trails, a walking oval and exercise circuit, and the Bear Creek Gardens. You can also take a scenic ride on the miniature train, or challenge friends and family to a round of mini golf.

Surrey’s Heritage Rail

Surrey’s Heritage Rail offers a nostalgic journey aboard fully restored electric railcars that once served the Fraser Valley. Departing from Cloverdale Station, the experience includes interactive exhibits, historic storytelling, and scenic rides through the countryside.

Historic Downtown Cloverdale

Historic Downtown Cloverdale is the original heart of Surrey. It was established in 1879 as its first town centre, and officially designated as a heritage district in 2016. Many early 20th-century buildings have been preserved from its heyday as a railway and administrative hub. Today, visitors can stroll along Cloverdale’s charming main street lined with heritage storefronts and landmarks like the Cloverdale Theatre and the Gothic‑Revival United Church, all reflecting its rich small‑town character.
