Come out for a lively farmers’ market at your neighbourhood farm every Saturday! The only farmers’ market on a working farm in Vancouver, this weekly market hosts dozens of local food vendors who sell alongside certified organic and farm-fresh produce, fruits, herbs, flowers and free-range eggs from the UBC Farm. Vendors include food trucks, hot and cold beverages, ice cream, meat, mushrooms, prepared food, treats, craftspeople, live musicians, and more. Free market tours take place every Saturday at 12:00pm, and shoppers are welcome to walk the fields to see where their produce is grown.
Throughout June and July the market hosts strawberry and blueberry u-picks alongside the market. On July 21, the market hosts Seeds of Knowledge, a special event with interactive activities for the whole family highlighting the innovative research that happens at UBC Farm including taste-testing vegetable varieties grown on the farm. September 15 is the annual Fall Fair, with a pie contest, u-pick pumpkins, kids’ activities, and more.
The UBC Farm Saturday Farmers’ Market offers a Stamp Card program: purchase from five different vendors and enter to win $50 in market money, with no limit on the number of stamp cards you can enter. The market is also able to offer 20% off for UBC students.
Make a day of your visit to the market: do your shopping, stay for a picnic, visit the chickens, and enjoy a day at the farm!
