The Artisan & Farmer Market
Chilliwack / Ts'elxwéyeqw
Ts'elxwéyeqw - Meaning 'as going as far as you can go upriver' in reference to travelling by canoe up the Chilliwack River sloughs leading to Soowahlie, from the Halq’eméylem language.
A close-knit, curated connection featuring Chilliwack’s growers, makers, and bakers.
The Eco Market was started by the Floystrup family in 2011 and has been hosted in south Chilliwack’s Sardis Park since 2012. Now renamed to the Artisan & Farmers Market around 24 vendors offer seasonal fruits and veggies, free range eggs, micro-greens, smoked beef jerky, homemade breads and gluten-free baking, honey, flowers and herbs, and much more each week. Artisans come to sell their wares in this picturesque outdoor setting and activities for the kids make this market a great mid-week after school, after work, or after dinner stop for the whole family. Live music, yoga, and tai chi are often organized onsite too.
We acknowledge our Market takes place on S’ólh Téméxw – the traditional and unceded territory of the Stó: lō Peoples. We also acknowledge that many forms of agriculture as we know it are food systems that were not traditionally adopted by the First Peoples here. It’s important that while we support local farming and farmers, we also promote the protection of these traditional food systems.
This market participates in the BC Farmers' Market Nutrition Coupon Program.
