New Denver Friday Market
New Denver / Tum-ula7xw
Tum-ula7xw - Sinixt name meaning "Mother-Earth".
An original Kootenays farmers’ market, New Denver is here to stay.
The small village with big community, New Denver has hosted their weekly Friday Market, every June through September since 1995. Against breathtaking views of the Kootenay Rockies, this gem of a market spreads out under the maple trees of Main Street on the beautiful big lawn of the old Motherlode Bookstore.
One of the first markets in the Kootenays, the New Denver Friday Market features locally grown vegetables, flowers, fruits, herbs and perennials alongside handcrafted pottery, jewelry, woodwork, and natural apothecary. The enchanting sounds of fiddles and flutes float through the bustling market, accentuating another ethereal morning in the mountains.
We would like to acknowledge that the land on which our market stands is the traditional territories of the Ktunaxa and Sinixt Nations.
This market participates in the BC Farmers' Market Nutrition Coupon Program.
