Spread ‘Em Kitchen products are stocked nationwide, in thousands of retail stores and the company is now a household name. But you may not know that it all began in Mellisa’s home kitchen as a weekend farmers market hustle in 2015. Mellisa knew that she wanted to contribute to something meaningful, focused on sustainability and doing good, but she wasn’t quite sure what direction this would take her. She was taking some time to figure out her next big move. From her stall at the Farmers’ Market, news of Melisa’s plant-based delicious cheeses and veggie dips travelled, and Mellisa moved from her home kitchen to a commissary kitchen and now, Spread ‘Em Kitchen operates from 20,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility in Richmond, BC. From tzatziki cashew dips to dill and truffle cream cheeze, Mellisa and her team have innovated their product line and are now a staple shelf item in stores such as Choices, Whole Foods and Loblaws.
